Brevard Wiki is Live

The first draft of the Brevard wiki is up. For now, we are a one-page wiki called Brevard East Coast Creatives.

There's a list of the companies represented by our present members. New members, please go add your companies.

There's also a list of free wi-fi hotspots in Brevard. If somebody wants, they can add a list of subscription wi-fi hotspots separately.

If the page becomes too big, we'll start breaking stuff into separate pages.

Any ideas about what else to include? Comment here -- or just go post the stuff on your own.

Hooray, Lawrence!

Glad to see folks embracing the free tools.

Looks like you have a problem with your permalink. Check out the tutorial in the Help wiki to get around this gotcha http://floridacreatives.com/wiki/help/adding-wiki-pages

If you notice anything missing from our features, I would be glad to discuss getting some new functionality installed.

The original plan was to keep all this sort of information under the "Florida" wiki, but to each his own. If you take a look at what we've got there and decide you want to include your pages under that hierarchy, then all the better.

One thing I think is cool is a list of blogs, particularly hyper-local content

Oops! My bad. Didn't quite notice that original plan, but now that I see it a little closer in action, I get it. I moved Brevard under Florida. And for the moment the "official" name of the group is Brevard East Coast Creatives. Until someone else comes up with something better.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I've got a small list of local blogs, so I'll add a page for that sometime soon.

Really I don't want to dictate how the site is organized, but in that case, I thought pointing out the past convention would help.

The "regions" that are set up under Florida there are made up - being an Orlando boy for almost 25 years of my life, I see Melbourne and Brevard as part of "Central" Florida, so it didn't make the previous list. I'm glad we have a community leader in that area to tell us otherwise.

With 12 members, you are now the second largest regional group - and Alex is a member, but you probably got the email same time as I did.

The BarCamp group and the Florida Creatives group are larger, but FLC is required...

Also, thanks to you, we were less than 50 users yesterday, and now we're 56!

Good work.
