Every single 3rd Monday for the past 23 3rd Mondays, a group of geeks, artists, writers and other creative types have been gathering in Orlando for a networking event otherwise unheard of in this part of the country.
Come and meet some likeminded folks - people who are always learning, working to change the world, looking to create something new, or people who just like being social.

Greetings Coworkers!
CoLab Orlando is our first Coworking space in Central Florida, and I believe the second one in Florida, after Brikolodge in Miami. I am sitting in the space right now as I write this post.
CoLab is laid out with a general admission area as well as some private suites for rent. I believe the anchor rate will be $250 once this gets swinging, but for November, they have announced a monthly rate of $49, which I was happy to pay.
A full list of rates and amenities should be available over at CoLabOrlando.com
Saturday and Sunday
DECEMBER 6 & 7, 2008
Originally a project of University of Central Florida's Downtown Media Arts Center, Enzian Theater became the home of FilmSlam when DMAC closed in 2006. Now in its second year at Enzian, FilmSlam continues to be a popular outlet for indie and student filmmakers throughout the State of Florida.
FilmSlam will be held on the second Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM at Enzian Theater. Below are the remaining dates for 2008:

GrandSlam at Brouhaha: December 6 & 7
What kind of games? Board? Video? Role-Playing? Improv?
That's up to you...
If there's one thing I know, it's that creatives, lateral thinkers, and geeks like to engage in some friendly competition every now-and-again. I've got a bunch of board- and card-games at my disposal. Other folks might have other kinds. The point is to come together and have fun in a non-networking fashion. We are already friends, so let's do something together.
Probably a weekend...? Probably at Stardust...? or perhaps the new CoLab space...? or in ellipsis land...?
If it were not at Stardust, we could order some pizzas and drinks and have a grand old time... somewhere. The Orlando Brewing Co. might be a good place to do this as well, or even our old standard of the Crooked Bayou, or the new Redlight Redlight location (down the street from Stardust in Baldwin Park).
These are all just suggestions, without you, they are hardly even ideas... please leave some comments.

Have you guys met Rachael Page yet? You may know her as David Rogers' girlfriend, or one of the folks on the advisory committee for CoLab Orlando (did anyone else notice the title of the page is "emailblast"?).
In lieu of meeting face-to-face, we have been having an email thread. I decided to get the conversation out of the back office and into the public forum.
On the setup of Florida Creatives:
A really fun quote I saw recently:
"Communities have to stop selling drinks and just build the bar."
Last year at BlogOrlando we had a session called 'The Orlando Scene'. The concept was to bring together folks for different backgrounds to talk about things like cow-orking, start-ups, etc. It's a year later, so what's changed? We gathered some of the local area leaders to talk over what's going on in Orlando.
