I'm one of those necessary evils we all know about, sometimes use, and often revile - a technical recruiter (GASP!). I'm not really all that bad though, I actually have friends, and I like to think I always have the best interests of my candidates and clients in mind. I'm always looking for talented IT professionals in all sorts of different fields. What brings me to your little group? Here's a multiple choice quiz:
I am looking forward to...
A. Meeting a bunch of like-minded geeky individuals and having some drinks (I'll come just for the fried pickles)
B. Sucking the blood of the innocent to replenish my god-like recruiting skills
C. Helping those of you who are interested in new opportunities find them with some of the best employers in the Central Florida area
D. Both A and C
If you guessed D. both A and C, you are correct.
I have worked in IT for approximately ten years. I worked as a Helpdesk Support person first in hardware, then in a position that started as desktop support for hardware and software, and became a fairly all encompassing support position covering telecom, server maintenance, administration, data backup and restore, disaster recovery, cell phones - you name it, I supported it. I was caught in a reduction in force and landed with an old friend and colleague of mine, who was actually the man who got me started in IT. He's been at it for more than twelve years in Central Florida and knows pretty much everyone in the area who works now, or worked in the past in any technical capacity with any company. Not a bad friend to have in good times or bad, and if you're nice to me, I'll introduce you. :o)
